About Ice Wine

Ice wine is rapidly turned out to be Canadian major speciality. Ice wine from Canada is made the same way as that of German ice wine. Grapes for making ice wine are left to over-ripen on the vine and then freeze as night temperatures start to plummet with the onset of winter. When the frozen berries are harvested, they are quiickly pressed so that the ice-pellets of water remain behind in the presses, and the sweet, concentrated juice runs free. Due to the favorable conditions in Canada, ice wine has become the top world practioner of the frozen art.

Ice Wine Making Countries

The major ice wine making countries are Canada and Germany as well as Austria. All the three ice wines although come from different countries but they are made using the same method. In addition, all of them are capable of aging to give the complexity of the wine.
